For 18 months, I led the redesign of DSCVR, a web-based social network built for web3. As the company’s first designer, I worked hand-in-hand with the founders and developers to completely rethink the web application and create a strong visual identity. Our aim was to make web3 easy and approachable for people who aren’t tech experts, while setting up a design foundation that could grow with the platform. This meant redesigning the app from scratch, adding smart features, and building a design system to keep everything consistent and efficient.
The project started with a basic MVP and turned into a fully polished product. I tackled the challenge of blending web3’s technical side with a simple, user-friendly experience, helping users feel confident exploring this new space.

My Role
Being the first designer meant I was in charge of the entire design process. I led the web app redesign, defined the brand’s look and feel, and created a design system to ensure consistency. I collaborated closely with the founders to solidify the vision and worked directly with developers to bring it to life, handing off prototypes and stepping in to troubleshoot when necessary.
In addition, I conducted competitor research, facilitated UX workshops, and contributed to various elements such as email templates and investor dashboards. My favorite aspect of the project was designing features—like a unified wallet for tokens and NFTs—that helped make web3 more approachable and enjoyable for users.
Key Contributions
I built a design system from scratch, making the app more responsive and cohesive, leading to a 139% increase in user interactions. The full redesign turned rough wireframes into a polished, modern product with a smooth, intuitive experience. Key features included interactive feed cards and an NFT showcase within a single wallet, making web3 more accessible to new users.
As the project evolved, I stayed agile, focusing on user needs and iterating quickly. I refined workflows, introduced scalable solutions, and ensured every design decision enhanced usability and engagement.
The Results
The new DSCVR web app is live and thriving, making web3 more accessible and boosting user engagement by 139%. The design system I crafted is now the backbone that supports the platform’s growth, and it’s exciting to see how focusing on design can make such a huge impact.
This project has been a real learning experience in handling pressure. I quickly adapted, relied on teamwork, and always kept the user experience front and center. It’s been incredibly rewarding to transform a complex concept into something people love using every day.
